　　英国首相卡梅伦反思社会道德（演说节选）

　　Our security fightback must be matched by a social fightback. We must fight back against the attitudes and assumptions that have brought parts of our society to this shocking state.

　　（对这次骚乱）我们在维稳的同时，还要发起“社会反击”。我们必须同引发这次动乱的心态和观念作斗争。

　　We know what's gone wrong: the question is, do we have the determination to put it right? Do we have the determination to confront the slow-motion moral collapse that has taken place in parts of our country these past few generations? Irresponsibility. Selfishness. Behaving as if your choices have no consequences.

　　我们知道哪儿出了错，问题的关键是我们有没有决心来纠正这些错误？我们有没有决心来面对？几代人以来，在我们国家的很多地方，道德在渐渐沦丧。人们变得不负责任、自私自利，肆无忌惮。

　　Children without fathers. Schools without discipline. Reward without effort. Crime without punishment. Rights without responsibilities. Communities without control.

　　孩子没有父亲，学校没有纪律。不劳而获，违法不究。有权利没义务，社区濒临失控。

　　Some of the worst aspects of human nature tolerated, indulged - sometimes even incentivised - by a state and its agencies that in parts have become literally de-moralised. So do we have the determination to confront all this and turn it around?

　　由于国家和政府机关本身的道德水准下降，人性中最恶的部分被纵容，甚至得到鼓励——那么，我们是不是真的有决心来面对这一切并彻底扭转局面呢？
