　　USTB Scholarships have been established to encourage and reward outstanding foreign students who come to study in USTB. The scholarships are available to all registered degree students or non-degree students.

　　There are 4 kinds of university scholarships as following:

　　1. Awards for outstanding new students are open to first year degree students who register in the fall. The value of the award is RMB 5,000.

　　Requirements:

　　1) demonstrate sufficient progress in the study of Chinese in USTB to enable them to embark on their major (if they have learnt Chinese in USTB ).

　　2) have an outstanding high school or university academic record, achieving a weighted average of 85 points on the percentile system or four points on the five-point scale.

　　3) have an HSK score of at least Band 6 for undergraduate study and at least Band 9 for postgraduate study.

　　Application Time

　　Between May and June each year.

　　2. Awards for excellent students are open to registered degree students. The award is 3,000 RMB and will be paid monthly at a rate of 300 RMB per month for 10 months.

　　Requirements:

　　1) have an attendance record of at least 95% of all lessons

　　2) participate fully in the activities organized by the International Students Office.

　　3) have an average of more than 70 points during the previous academic year, and

　　4) rank among the top three foreign students in the same year and same department.

　　Application Deadline:

　　Applicants who meet the above requirements should complete the Foreign Students Scholarship Application Form of USTB and submit it together with their test report form to the International Students Office at the start of the semester.

　　3. Awards for progress in learning are open to registered degree students. The value of the award is 1,000 RMB.

　　Requirements:

　　1) have an attendance record of at least 95% of all lessons

　　2) participate fully in the activities organized by the International Students Office.

　　3) be able to demonstrate a significant improvement in his/her academic performance over the course of at least one semester.

　　Application Deadline:

　　Applicants who meet the above conditions above should complete the Foreign Students Scholarship Application Form of USTB and submit it together with their test report form for the past two semesters to the International Students Office at the start of the semester.

　　4. Awards for outstanding students are open to registered non-degree students.  The value of the award is 800 RMB.

　　Requirements:

　　1) have an attendance record of at least 95% of all lessons

　　2) be able to demonstrate good classroom performance and interaction with teachers during class.

　　3) be ranked top of the class in his/her comprehensive score.

　　Application Deadline:

　　At the end of each semester, the International Students Office will evaluate all applications and inform students the results based on their class attendance, teachers' evaluation and comprehensive test report.
