| The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) is scheming to construct a talent reserve for its future development. The CASS vice president Jiang Lansheng said Tuesday that her academy has launched a special fund for helping young promising talents in social sciences. It will provide research aids for attracting professors under the age of 45 years, assistant professors under the age of 40 years, graduates with Ph. D or master's degrees, Jiang said. Meanwhile, the CASS will sponsor young researchers to publish their academic achievements, Jiang said. She encouraged the backbone researchers or management officials who are younger than 45 years to sharpen their academic edges, as well as improve their command of foreign languages and skill in using web-related computers. While attracting more talents for tenure track, the CASS, following their counterparts in developed countries, plans to establish the system of visiting professorship. In addition, Jiang said that the CASS graduate school will enlarge its enrollment in coming years. |
