The Second International Science and Technology Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine will be held from Sept. 25 to 27 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province.

The conference will display the latest science and technology in traditional Chinese medicine, the industrial prospect of the industry and international cooperation in this regard.

More than 200 experts and scholars from around the world, including a Nobel laureate and some academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, are expected to attend the conference.

They will concentrate on such topics as high technology in modern traditional Chinese medicine, sustainable development and utilization of traditional Chinese medicine resources, and clinical research of the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine.

Chen Zhu, vice CAS president, will give a lecture on systematic biology and modernization of traditional Chinese medicines.

More than 800 academic papers, including 132 from abroad, have already been submitted to the conference, according to the organizers.
