Headhunters Eye Beijing's High-Tech Industrial Base

A talent fair recently held torecruit senior management and technical professionals for businesses in the Capital's high-tech industrial base Zhongguancunhas attracted thousands of inquiries, sources said Tuesday. The two-month recruitment campaign started on November 26 and listed 43 senior management and technical positions for qualified domestic and overseas skilled professionals. Domestic IT giants such as Legend, Taiji Group and Qinghua Tongfang, posted vacancies with annual salaries exceeding 150,000 yuan at the fair. Organizers say that the Beijing Municipal Government will pay for one-way flights for interested overseas applicants. Organizers had received about 1,300 applications by December 7.About one third of the applicants have overseas education background and almost half hold masters' degrees. Sources say that overseas students and IT organizations based in the United States have demonstrated strong interest in the fairand plan to come back to China and directly contact recruiting organizations during the Christmas vacation. Statistics show that Zhongguancun reported a total income of 154.3 billion yuan (19 billion U.S. dollars) and had a gross industrial value of 91.54 billion yuan (11 billion U.S. dollars) last year. |
