Beijing Development Area: Largest Winner of Hi-tech Week

After clinching 34 projects with a total contract value of 2.76 billion US dollars, the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area became the largest winner at the Beijing International Hi-Tech Industries Week, which recently ended.

Among the 34, 15 foreign financed projects alone have involved a total 2.26 billion US dollars of foreign investment, which accounts for 82% of the total.

Meanwhile, the number of projects specializing in high-tech fields such as telecommunications, biologic technology, pharmaceuticals, and new materials stand at 22.

According to statistics, a total of 823 projects involving contract volume of 7.9 billion US dollars were clinched during the week-long event.

Founded in 1994, the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area, Beijing's only development zone on the state- level, has attracted 826 enterprises and a total investment of 3.2 billion US dollars by the end of April.
