Vice-premier Addresses Beijing International High-tech Week

Vice-premier Li Lanqing, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the Fourth Beijing International High-Tech Week and International Scientific and Technology Exposition Thursday afternoon and gave a keynote speech.

About 6,000 people participated in the opening ceremony, which included heads from the world's top-500 enterprises, university presidents, foreign diplomats in China, delegations from over 50 countries and regions.

The activity was co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information Industry, and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

Activities of the week include an exhibition with floor space over 100,000 square meters, technology achievement exchanges and trade fairs, and forums.
