Functional polymer lab established at China's largest university
2001-01-01

A world-class functional polymer lab was set up at the Yuquan branch of Zhejiang University, the largest in the country, in coastal Zhejiang Province.

With a contribution of US$300,000 from a Thai company, the lab is to be run jointly by the university and the company. The lab's research timetable has been worked out to tackle problems such as concrete invulnerability against efflorescence, erosion and seepage.

Functional polymer has been put high on the list of research work at the university, which has made remarkable progress in research on concrete and relevant problems.

Lert Etitum, general manager of Thai Vibro Ltd., said the powerful scientific and technological strength of Zhejiang university had made possible his company's cooperation with the university. The two sides will share all research findings from the lab, he added.
