　　*   Dear members of the ETDF in China:
　　I have spent almost two weeks in your wonderful country and have delivered guest lectures and informal talks on trends in our field to students at seven universities here. During these conversations I have been very impressed with the quality of questions and comments I have received from the students in the audiences, especially from the doctoral students. I would like to encourage all of you to continue to read, listen to and study as much information as you can about our field. I believe that in China, as has been the case in the United States over the past 30 years, the opportunities for professionals in our field will continue to grow. By studying more about the field, and working hard to practice the skills you are learning about, you should be well-prepared for the many opportunities I think will be available to you in the near future. I wish you the best of success in our profession!
