80,000 Chinese will Sit IELTS Examination

| The Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy in Beijing has announced that 80,000 Chinese will sit the International English Language Testing System examination or IELTS this year. The IELTS is designed to assess the English level of people who want to study or work in countries where English is the main language used. It has become popular throughout China since it was introduced into the country in the 1990's. Last year 40,000 Chinese sat the exam. |
