Teaching and Research Opportunities in Power Systems at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Suzhou, China

(1) Associate Professors/Lecturers in Electrical Power Systems
Applications are invited for the above posts in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. Candidates must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics or related discipline; an established track record in research, a strong record of publication and attracting research funding, experience of teaching in relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution and team leadership skills. Research experiences in the areas of power system analysis and control, power market or renewable energy are required. You are expected to conduct research in these areas at the University’s research Centre for Energy and Power, headed by Professor Yonghua Song (FREng and FIEEE).
Salaries are negotiable with the salary range for Associate Professors between 25,000 to 35,000 RMB per month and for lecturers up to 25,000 RMB per month. The salary is supported by an extensive benefits package for expatriot staff relocating to China including accommodation allowance, travel allowance, medical insurance and relocation allowance.

(2) PhD Studentships in Power Systems
The University has established a research Centre for Energy and Power, headed by Professor Yonghua Song (FREng and FIEEE). Applications are now invited for the PhD studentships in the centre. The PhD candidates will be registered at the University of Liverpool (UoL), UK to be awarded a UoL Degree after successfully completion. The supervisor will be Prof. Yonghua Song, Professor and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Liverpool. As Professor Song currently holds the Executive President post at XJTLU in Suzhou, the PhD students will spend most of their time at XJTLU but will have opportunities to visit the University of Liverpool in the UK for research exchange. The studentship covers both the tuition fees and living allowances.
