学校简介

　　中南民族大学工商学院成立于2002年，是经国家民委、湖北省人民政府批准，教育部确认，以实施本科层次教育为主，专科层次教育为辅的独立学院。2006年被新浪网、教育部微博网、腾讯、优学网评为全国独立学院20强。

　　学院分为新、老两个校区，占地面积1000亩，其中新校区为主校区，位于武汉市洪山区黄家湖西路3号，老校区位于武汉东湖新技术开发区，紧邻校本部。学院现有在校生近13000人，专兼职教师780余人，其中副高级职称以上教师约310人，硕士以上学历的约150人。学院现设有10系3部：新闻传播学系、管理系、电子商务学系、电子信息工程系、环境与生命科学系、法学系、外语系、计算机科学与技术系、经济学系、艺术设计系和大学英语部、大学预科部、公共基础课部，开设有39个本、专科专业。

　　学院自成立以来，不断摸索具有特色的教学方法和发展道路，以“以人为本，特色兴校”为办学宗旨，突出应用型人才的培养，坚持通识教育与职业教育相结合、实践教学与理论教学并重的办学思路，走以市场为导向、以质量求生存、以特色创品牌的发展道路。学校的专业设置、人才培养、师资队伍建设等，都紧密切和市场需要，贴紧企业发展脉搏，并具体落实到教学和管理的各个环节中。致力于为社会培养生产、管理、经营第一线所需要的掌握必要的基础专业理论知识、具有实践能力和创新精神的应用型专门人才。

　　为了提高学生的实践能力和就业竞争力，学院还于2004年在湖北高校率先出资成立“校企合作俱乐部”，于200余家企业建立了合作关系。学院毕业生就业情况良好，截止2007年9月份，学院已为社会输送了近4500名本、专科毕业生，平均就业率达到了90%。

　　The Engineering and Commerce College of South-Central University for Nationalities is a comprehensive and independent institution offering undergraduate and diploma curriculums. It has been approved by the State Ethical Committee, Hubei Provincial Bureau of Education and is accredited by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. 　　The College adheres to principles of placing people as its top priority and operating a distinctive institution focused on cultivating special talents for production, operation and management in the commercial, scientific, technological and academic arenas.

　　There are two campuses occupying a combined area of 1000 Mu, among which the main campus is located at University Town of Huangjiahu Lake. Focusing on undergraduate degree courses, the school enrolls students from all over the country. At present there are more than 13,000 students and about 900staff in which 310 have high titles and 170 hold master’s degree.

　　The school currently offers degree and diploma programs for thirty-nine majors in thirteen academic departments: Art, College English, Computer Science and Technology, Economics, Electronic Business, Electronic Information Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Foreign Languages, Journalism, Law, Preparatory Courses and Public Courses.

　　The campus environment promises to be one of the most attractive anywhere in the country and the teaching equipment is state of the art including a new library, multimedia classrooms, language labs, computer network labs and electronic reading rooms. Two markets, medical clinic, sports fields, meal centers and laundry offer students an all around service.
