Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) was founded in 1920 with full assistance of the country thereafter, and has been repeatedly been designated as one of the top nine key universities in China since 1999. Forging ahead towards a world-class university, HIT set up the Research Academy of Science and Technology (RAST) in 2005 as a way of exploring a new management system for scientific research.
Working closely with each discipline, RAST is established as a university-oriented, open and internationalized platform for scientific and technological research on a high plane, which comprises an information sharing platform, a laboratory facilities sharing platform and a talents flow and sharing platform, which allows RAST to offer its full assistance for interdisciplinery and cross-disciplinery researches, encourage and support a group of new interdisciplinery and integrated research fields, and cultivate and support a batch of research fields of marginal and newly-emerged disciplines. Further, RAST takes the initiative to apply and to promote a group of key scientific research programes for making a number of representative achievements, and makes all its efforts to nurture a batch of innovative research teams and outstanding talents and to establish a number of scientific and technological innovation research bases including national laboratories, national key laboratories and key laboratories for national defense and the like, thereby forging its way to achieve the goal of the leap-forward development of the scientific and technological researches in HIT.

2).Beneficial treatments for excellent Dr. graduates under 35
→Dr. graduates who have employment experiences since January 1st, 2001:
A lump sum of 100,000 RMB allowance including settlement allowance, housing subsidy and the first year post subsidy supported by HIT alone
→Dr. graduates who have already had employment experiences before January 1st, 2001:
A lump sum of 55,000 RMB allowance including settlement allowance and the first year post subsidy supported by HIT alone, and the housing subsidy will be granted according to the standards set by the Logistic Affairs Office of HIT

4.Ways of Application
1).researchers from other units please fill in the Contract Professors Application form (http://rsc.hit.edu.cn/rcyj/), and fresh Dr. graduates please fill in the Employment Application, Examination and Approval form (http://www.hit.edu.cn/express/employ.htm).
2).materials of the researchers will be submitted to the Human Resources Office of HIT after the approval of the primary examinations and interviews by the Professor Committee of RAST;
3).materials of the researchers will be submitted to the president’s office meeting of HIT after being discussed, examined and approved by the directors office meeting of the Human Resources Office of HIT;
4).Successful applicants who have been approved at the president’s office meeting will be required to register.
5.Required Materials
1).an application form;
2).copies of the R&D projects, certificates of prizes and patents listed in the application form;
3).complete articles of 5 important innovative papers and copies of the covers and catalogues of the journals the papers are collected in, and copies of the covers, catalogues and the first pages of other representative works;
4).SCI、EI、SSCI、CSSCI containing the papers listed in the application form and proof of quotations by other papers;
5).proof of important posts and working experiences at home and abroad of the applicants;
6).copies of the invitation letters or notifications of conferences reports and specially invited reports and proof of working experiences at international conferences;
7).two recommendation letters by two experts;
8).Copies of diplomas of the applicant from bachelor degree to the final degrees.
