Tianjin University of Technology and Education (TUTE) is a multi-disciplinary university managed jointly by the central government and the government of Tianjin municipality. TUTE covers some 1,000 mu of land with a total floor space. The teachers in this university are very specialized and excellent, of whom more than 47% are professors and associate professors. The equipment and instruments for advanced experiment and practice are worth 190,000,000 RMB. 10 disciplines in TUTE have the right to grant Master’s Degree. At present there are 11,000 postgraduate and undergraduate students with 10 colleges and 33 disciplines such as Departments of Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Computer, Vocational Education Management, Automotive, Electronics, Foreign Languages, Mathematics and Information, Commerce and Art..

Over the past twenty years, the university has actively exploring the pattern of school running and the distinctive way of Double Certificate to produce “Integrated Personnel”. In 1997 and 2005, TUTE won the first prize for national teaching achievement appraisal. TUTE has produced about 10000 excellent graduates and won acclaim from different work units.

In recent years, the scale and level of school running has been gradually improved and rapid development have been made in the fields of scientific research and teaching methods. The university has undertaken many projects such as national 863 projects, national projects of Ministry of Science and Technology and National Natural Science fund projects. Many papers have been published in high-level domestic periodicals and some papers are included in SCI, EI. The foreign exchange and cooperation has been greatly developing and friendly cooperative relationships have been established between our university and more than 30 countries such as Japan, America and Germany. In 2003, TUTE was designated as the first educational foreign-aid base in our country by the Ministry of Education.
