(2) Academic leaders: Requirements:
Engaged in famous universities or research institutes (enterprises) at home or abroad;
Aged no more than 45; having important academic influence in the international academic field;
Potentially capable of being entitled the Cheung Kong Scholars and becoming leaders in relevant fields in our university;
For returned overseas, they should have worked abroad as associate professor, assistant professor or other equivalent positions, while domestic talents should have had the experience of working as professors or equivalent positions at home. Among all the candidates, those who have won any titles of national level will be favored.
Treatment:
For returned overseas: a. Directly awarded the titles of professor and doctoral tutor; employed as third level professor and "distinguished professor"; appointment system is adopted and after two consecutive terms of appointment, his personnel files will be transferred to the university according to personal will and current state regulations concerning personnel administration.
b. Annual salary can be provided. The overseas associate professors or those of equivalent titles are offered annual salary of RMB 400,000-500,000 (tax, special engagement bonus and the various allowances from governments included). The overseas assistant professor or those of equivalent positions are offered an annual income of RMB 300,000-400,000 (with the same inclusions as mentioned immediately above).
c. Launching funds, office, laboratory and equipment will be guaranteed according to the necessity of scientific research, and specialized research institutes and research team will be set up whenever it is necessary
d. Offered relevant social insurances; within their term of appointment, each of them is provided with a rental housing with an area of 145 square meters (after ten successive years of work in the university, he or she can buy it according to relative state policies); If the spouse is suit for a position in SWJTU, the spouse will have the priority in employment; if not, SWJTU will allot monthly settlement allowance (no less than the local minimum wage standards, the provision last for three years). During the appointment period, if the spouse lives abroad, we will provide international travel fee annually; we will provide positive assistance to children's enrollment to school or kindergarten in Chengdu.
e. For foreign staff, SWJTU is responsible for applying the long-term work and residence permit in China; Commercial insurances will be provided.
For domestic talents:
a. Directly awarded the titles of professor and doctoral tutor; employed as third level professor and "distinguished professor"
b. Those who work full time in the university will receive an annual special engagement award of RMB 80,000-100,000 and other treatments like salary, insurance and benefits will be provided.
c. Providing a settling allowance of RMB 150,000 for the full-time employers living outside campus ; providing a suit of house for free or300,000~400,000 RMB as housing allowances; arranging work for spouse. For the full-time employer whos personnel files is not in SWJTU, a temporarily set of house will be provided for free.
(3)Key academic staff: Requirements:
With greater academic achievements than university staff in the same field;
Aged no more than 45 (talents specialized in humanity and social sciences aged no more than 55);
Potentially capable of better development and surpassing or keeping pace with the advanced world levels in certain forefront research areas, or specializing in R & D of high-tech products and transformation of scientific achievements;
Returned overseas should get their doctor's degree from prestigious universities abroad or have three year of working experience;
For domestic talents, those who enter the state, provincial and ministry talents scheme are given priority.
Treatment:
a. Research launching expenses (provided according to one of the following items): (a). Those who are qualified to applying for "Yanghua Star" or "Sishi Star" programs are funded according to corresponding programs;
(b) Those who are qualified to be appointed as senior staff are provided RMB 150,000-300,000 according the characteristics of different disciplines;
(c) Those who are qualified to be appointed as associate senior staff are provided RMB 50,000-100,000 according to the characteristics of different disciplines.
b. Housing allowances ranging from RMB 100,000 to 300,000 will be offered. RMB 100,000 settlement fund will be provided for those who are entitled to applying for "Yanghua Star" programs, or qualified to be appointed as senior staff, or returned overseas. Others will be offered RMB 50,000.
c. With an eye to his or her skills, assistance will be provided in helping the spouse get employed. Positive assistance will be provided to children's enrollment to school or kindergarten. For those returned overseas who are especially excellent, treatment could be improved on the basis of the previous items. For example, annual salary system (an annual salary of RMB 150,000-200,000) can be introduced. The overseas can be first employed and then appointed as professor or associate professor. And they can participate in the selection of master tutors.
