Students from China's Inland Keen on Colleges in Macao

    Macao's colleges have great  attraction for students from China's inland.

    According to statistics, the University of Macao, the Macao  Polytechnic Institute, the Macao Tourism Institute and the Macao  Institute of Technology will recruit a total of 1,053 high school  graduates from the inland of China in the new semester.

    The students are selected from nearly 2,000 applicants from 14 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shanghai,  Guangdong and Fujian, in line with their scores in the national  college entrance examinations.
     The four institutions of higher learning boast advanced  facilities and disciplines and their bachelor's degrees are  acknowledged in China's inland.

    The admissions process went on very smoothly with assistance  from relevant state departments and local educational departments, according to Fernando Chui Sai On, secretary for social affairs  and culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

    He has noted that the SAR government will continue to support  the academic exchanges between Macao and the inland.
