According to statistics, the University of Macao, the Macao Polytechnic Institute, the Macao Tourism Institute and the Macao Institute of Technology will recruit a total of 1,053 high school graduates from the inland of China in the new semester. The students are selected from nearly 2,000 applicants from 14 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Fujian, in line with their scores in the national college entrance examinations. The admissions process went on very smoothly with assistance from relevant state departments and local educational departments, according to Fernando Chui Sai On, secretary for social affairs and culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). He has noted that the SAR government will continue to support the academic exchanges between Macao and the inland. |
